Questions

Before you reach out.

The things most people want to know first. If yours isn't here, just ask on our call.

No, I do not take insurance. I am an out-of-network provider. Many of my clients are reimbursed for a meaningful share of their sessions through out-of-network benefits. Each month I’ll send you a superbill, an itemized receipt with everything your insurer needs, and I’m glad to walk you through how to use it.

Fees vary by service and are shared during your free first consultation. I’m an out-of-network provider and give you a Good Faith Estimate before we begin.

Coaching is goal-focused and looks forward, building skills and momentum toward what you want next. Therapy goes deeper: it’s licensed clinical care that helps you understand the patterns underneath, heal what’s driving them, and create lasting change, not just a plan. As a licensed psychotherapist I do the deeper work, and we still keep a clear, forward direction so it never feels aimless.

Both, and beyond New York. In-person sessions are on Thursdays at the Flatiron office, and by secure video anywhere in New York State on other days. Couples intensives are in person only, at the Flatiron office. Outside New York, in the rest of the United States and worldwide, I work with individuals and couples by video as a coach rather than a therapist, because my clinical license covers New York State.

My therapy license covers New York State, so therapy clients need to be located in New York during our sessions, in person or by secure video. If you live elsewhere in the United States or abroad, I work with individuals and couples as a coach by video, anywhere in the world. Coaching is not therapy and is not a substitute for clinical care, but the way I work, and what I understand about couples, is the same. We can sort out which fits on our call.

A short call, no charge. We talk about what’s bringing you in and whether we’re a good fit. No pressure either way.

There’s no fixed answer. Some people come for a focused stretch around a specific decision or season; others stay longer for deeper work. We’ll revisit it together, and you’re always free to pause.

Occasionally, yes. Early on I may meet each of you once individually. The work itself stays focused on the relationship, and I hold a careful, even-handed stance toward both of you.

Yes. What you share stays between us, within the standard legal and ethical limits I will walk you through before we begin.
